Salt Lake City

Located in northern Utah, Salt Lake is situated in a basin between the snow-covered Wasatch mountain range to the east and the Great Salt Lake to the west. Salt Lake City combines the amenities of a large metropolitan area with the friendliness of a small, western city. Salt Lake offers remarkable history, warm hospitality and numerous shopping opportunities as well as being an attractive, safe and growing city.

Salt Lake City has gained international recognititon as a top quality winter destination since hosting the 2002 Winter Olympic Games as well as being a firm favourite with SkiClass. The resorts of Brighton, Snowbird and The Canyons all live up to the reputation of having 'The Greatest Snow on Earth'.

When arriving in Salt Lake City, we strongly recommend a full rest day to allow the group to acclimatise before heading off to experience ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’. SLC’s largest attraction is Temple Square. It took 40 years for this immense temple to be built and SkiClass groups can stroll through the 10-acres of perfectly manicured grounds or learn about the Mormon religion at the impressive visitors centre. Some of the other spectacular draws of the city include the Clark Planetarium, which includes Utah's very first 3-D IMAX Theatre and Downtown’s Gateway, a partly open air shopping centre that caters for all shopping desires.

To ensure that you get the most out of your time in Salt Lake City, our SkiClass experts are on hand to deliver the perfect personalised itinerary. In the meantime, here are a few of our recommended top attractions;

  •  The Clark Planetarium & IMAX Theatre
