Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf is located in the heart of Carrabassett Valley, which was carved by the Carrabassett River and is surrounded by Maine's Western Mountains. This deceptively large mountain is extremely popular with SKiClass groups as it offers the only slope-side village in Eastern USA.
With a continuous, one-mountain vertical drop of 2,820 feet, the longest in the East, and a summit elevation of 4,237 feet, Sugarloaf boasts more than 54 miles of trails ranging from novice to expert-only. 138 trails traverse Sugarloaf’s 1,400 skiable acres, including three trails over three miles long, three terrain parks and 2 half-pipes. Snow is guaranteed late into the season by a massive 17 feet of natural snow every year in addition to an efficient snowmaking system that covers 95% of the mountain.
- The “Birches” learning area right in the heart of the village and plenty of gentle slopes for building confidence, Sugarloaf is a great place for learning
- Sugarloaf gets its name from the shape of the mountain and is very well laid out with all runs finishing back at the base lodge
- Head for summit and experience the only “above tree line” skiing in Eastern USA
