Zell am See

Hand-picked because…
• Small, lively town on the shores of Lake Zell, south of Salzburg
• Beautiful, medieval lakeside town with cobbled, pedestrian streets
• Skiing for all, beginners gentle open nursery slopes in the town, great network of blues and reds for the intermediate skier and challenging mogul fields for the advanced
• A classic Austrian resort popular with schools and adults alike
• 3 fabulous hotels to choose from to suit budgets and accommodation requirements
Zell am See is in the heart of the Europa Sport Region and consists of the Schmittenhöhe mountain, Kaprun and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, over 3,000m, guaranteeing year round skiing. The Schmittenhöhe can be accessed from the centre of Zell am See or from the Areitbahn gondola in Schüttdorf. Wide blues and tree lined red runs offer a great network of skiing with spectacular views over the resort and lake. On a clear day it is possible to see the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria. Snowboarders will also appreciate the great infrastructure and ‘fun park’.
The resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun, as well as the satellite villages are well set up for students and the standard of accommodation on offer throughout is good. This is a most sort after destination.
