Sportwelt Amade

This is part of one of Austria’s largest ski areas, the lift pass giving access to over 850km of piste. In the Sportwelt Amadé, which comprises of nine resorts, there are over 340km of pistes on offer and every level of skier will find enjoyable and challenging runs. Investments in the lift systems have greatly improved the links between the resorts, however, despite the
impressive statistics, villages such as Altenmarkt, Wagrain and Eben have retained their charm and traditions. The area is the home of champion skiers Hermann Maier and Michael Walchhofer who both learned to ski in the Amadé and still live here. The whole area caters well for school parties and there is a wide choice of amenities such as the indoor swimming complex in Wagrain and the bowling alleys in Zauchensee and St Johann in Pongau.
